On October 27, 2021, the new World Reputation Rankings was published by the Times Higher Education international agency. Lomonosov Moscow State University entered the top 40 best universities in the world, taking the 38th line of the ranking.
The rating is compiled on the basis of 13 indicators, combined into 5 groups: training and educational environment, scientific work, citation of scientific publications, international mobility of students and staff.
On June 8, 2021, the QS World University Rankings 2022 was published. Lomonosov Moscow State University was ranked 78th, becoming the best Russian university and the only representative from Russia in the TOP-100.
This year, the QS Institutional Ranking includes 1,300 higher education institutions from 97 countries. At the same time, more than 6,400 universities were admitted to participate in the ranking. When analyzing their positions, the results of surveys of more than 130,000 representatives of academia and 75,000 epresentatives of employers were calculated. The research methodology includes six main indicators for compiling the ranking: academic reputation, employers' reputation, professor - student ratio, the number of citations per teacher and employee, the share of foreign teachers and staff, and the share of international students.
Moscow State University became the best among Russian universities according to the ARWU-2021 rating (Academic Ranking of World Universities), and also entered the world top 100, being located at 97th position.
The Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) has been published annually since 2003 identifying the world's leading universities. Every year, when compiling the Academic Ranking of World Universities, the indicators of more than two thousand universities are studied, and the thousand of the best of them are included in the ranking. Universities are ranked on the basis of six indicators: the number of alumni and employees who have received the Nobel and Fields prizes; the number of articles published in the journals Nature and Science; the number of most frequently cited researchers and articles based on information from the Web of Science database; and the average academic performance per faculty member.
Lomonosov Moscow State University took 19th place in the Moscow international ranking of universities "Three missions of the university". The total number of universities represented in the ranking increased in 2021 to 1650, including 112 universities from Russia. Lomonosov Moscow State University is a leader among Russian universities.
