Recognition of education documents obtained in a foreign state
If you received your previous education outside of Russia, then in order to enter Moscow University, your foreign education must be recognized as corresponding to the educational program implemented in the Russian Federation. Recognition of foreign education and / or qualifications is a prerequisite for admission to Moscow University.

Recognition of a foreign education is carried out using the AIS "Recognition" system.

View the instructions on working with AIS "Recognition".

To pass the recognition procedure, you must prepare:
  • A valid identity card by which you plan to cross the border of the Russian Federation for the purpose of studying;
  • A document confirming a change of surname, first name or patronymic, if they do not match with the educational document and the valid identity card.
You can also upload additional documents to the system confirming your education (for example, copies of documents on continuing education, additional professional education programs, academic internships, including in a foreign educational organization, etc.).
Documents received in a foreign country must be legalized. You can familiarize yourself with the required form of legalization of documents issued in your country here.
All documents drawn up in a foreign language must be accompanied by a notarized translation into Russian.
Passing the education recognition procedure is not equivalent to submitting documents for admission to Moscow State University.
Procedures and deadlines for submission of documents
In 2024, you can submit documents in one of several ways:

Acceptance of documents for the first year for undergraduate, specialist and graduate programs for foreign citizens begins on June 15, 2024 and ends:

  • for Bachelor and Specialist programs - July 10, 2024 (depending on the educational program, the exact dates should be specified at the faculty);
  • for Master's programs - July 20, 2024.
If education documents (certificate, diploma) are not issued before the submission deadline at MSU, an official letter from the educational institution (school, college, university) can be accepted for consideration. The letter should confirm the completion of studies in 2024 and indicate the exact date of obtaining a document of education / diploma.
