When will the entrance examinations take place?
The exact dates of entrance examinations for applicants for the first year of study for Bachelor, Specialist and Master's programs will be determined by the Central Admissions Committee of Moscow State University and announced no later than June 1, 2021.
In what format will the entrance examinations take place?
Entrance tests are conducted using remote technologies.
How not to be eliminated from the competition?
According to the Rules for Admission to Moscow State University, the following persons are eliminated from the competition:

  • persons who took the documents after the completion of the acceptance of documents;

  • persons who did not appear without good reason at the entrance examinations conducted by Moscow State University (additional entrance examinations conducted by Moscow State University; general educational entrance examinations conducted by Moscow State University for certain categories of applicants) at the scheduled time;

  • persons who received a result below the minimum number of points in the entrance examination;

  • persons who have not submitted a statement of consent to enrollment before the deadline and / or have submitted an incomplete set of documents required for enrollment.
Persons who have not passed the entrance examination conducted by Moscow State University for a good reason (illness or other documented circumstances) are allowed to pass the specified examination in another group or on a reserve day in accordance with the approved schedule of entrance examinations.
Can a foreign citizen enter Moscow State University on a budgetary basis?
Certain categories of foreign citizens have the right to enroll on equal terms with citizens of the Russian Federation (on a competitive basis). You can find detailed information about these categories of citizens here.
Does MSU provide scholarships to foreign citizens?
Moscow State University provides scholarships to students studying on a budgetary basis. MSU does not provide scholarships to students studying on a contractual basis.
Is it possible to transfer to Moscow State University from another university?
Transfer to the Lomonosov Moscow State University from other universities is carried out on the basis of the Procedure for the transfer of students from other organizations carrying out educational activities to the Lomonosov Moscow State University for training in educational programs of higher education. The number of vacancies for translation is published (if any) on the page of the corresponding educational program. The deadlines for accepting documents for transfer to Moscow State University are established in accordance with the Rules for Admission to Moscow State University in 2021. Can a foreign citizen get a place in a dormitory at Moscow State University?
When applying for admission to study, the applicant must declare the need to obtain a place in the a dormitory of Moscow State University. The dormitories are subject to availability. What are the approximate tuition and living costs in Moscow?
Estimated expenses for studying and living in Moscow:

  • A preparatory course in the Russian language and major subjects at the Institute of Russian Language and Culture from September 1 to June 30 (for training in programs implemented in Russian, if you do not speak Russian to the extent necessary to study at a degree program) - $ 6,000;


  • Expenses for translation, notarization and legalization of educational documents - from 5,000 to 8,000 rubles;

  • Tuition fees - depends on the educational program;


  • The cost of living in a student dormitory is about 10,000 -14,000 rubles per month, depending on living conditions;

  • The use of books in the university library is free.
