Dual-degree Master Program "Economics and Finance"
(joint program of LMSU Moscow School of Economics and the University of Primorska in LMSU affiliated branch in Koper, Slovenia)
The Lomonosov Moscow State University and the University of Primorska (Koper) launched the international joint educational program "Economics and finance" with the education in English in 2017. The graduate receives two diplomas by direction "Economics" – from the University of Primorska (belongs to the European Higher Education Area) and from the Lomonosov Moscow State University. While training on this program, future masters will also get acquainted with practical activities of the European and Russian enterprises.

During the first year, students study at the University of Primorska, in Koper, an ancient city rich in historical artifacts located on the Adriatic Sea, and for the second year, students study at the Lomonosov Moscow State University in Moscow.

The program is a first step towards the implementation of the provisions of Memorandum of understanding on establishment of the Branch of the Lomonosov Moscow State University in the Republic of Slovenia signed in February 2017 in the frames of official visit of President of Slovenia Borut Pahor. The signing of an Agreement on the establishment of scientific and educational Center of MSU "Lomonosov" at the University of Primorska in November 2016 was also the impetus for the establishment of a joint Russian-Slovenian educational program.

The aim of joint master program "Economics and finance" is to use the best educational resources of the two universities (curricula, teaching materials, teaching staff, etc.) in order to prepare highly qualified cadre with fundamental knowledge in the sphere of economics and finance, high level of proficiency in the foreign language, experience and skills to conduct of business in Russia, Slovenia and the other European countries.

Association of scientific and educational potentials of Slovenia and Russia, engaging the business communities of both countries and their neighboring states, could play an important role in strengthening of international relations, the spread of cultural, scientific approaches and educational standards of the Russian Federation in the countries of Central-Eastern and South-Eastern Europe.

Curriculum of the program
Implementation of the international joint educational program is carried out in accordance with the educational standard established by the Lomonosov Moscow State University for Master's degree programmes in "Economics" and the educational standard of the University of Primorska, Slovenia. The best professors of two Universities are involved in the implementation of the program.
This is a full-time Master's degree program taught in English, with total of 120 credits.

Tuition Fee:
The tuition fee for 2019/2020 intake was 480,000 Russian rubles per year (~ 7,000 USD per year, or ~ 6300 EUR per year). Tuition to be paid at the beginning of each semester.

Master of Science in Global Economics and Finance
(including preparation for CFA® exams)
Master of Science in Global Economics and Finance is an international program on applied Finance and Economics incorporating the curriculum (CBOK) of Certified Financial Analyst ® professional qualification program.

Program Structure
Program is structured according to the requirements of the Russian Federation standards and internationally accepted standards of education for Master's degree and incorporates curriculum (CBOK) of Certified Financial Analyst®.
During the first year of education students get fundamental knowledge on finance and economics:
  • Financial Accounting and Reporting (IFRS and US GAAP), Financial Statements Analysis , Corporate Finance, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Asset Management on International Capital Markets, Alternative Investments, Fixed Income and Derivatives;
  • Applied statistics and Applied Econometrics in Economics and Finance( including Monte-Carlo stimulations, scenario analysis, stress-testing);
  • Trainings for professional CFA ® Level 1 qualification exams provided by experienced professionals and business-trainers.
During the second year of education students continue to study core courses and get trained in Financial Modelling, Investment Projects Evaluation, Mergers and Acquisitions Strategies and continue developing their skills in Macroeconomic and Financial Forecasting. During the second year students may also participate at the double-degree or student – exchange programs with MSU partner Universities.
