Faculty of Global Studies
The Faculty of Global Studies initiated the first Russian study of global processes. The Faculty was established in 2005 on the initiative of Rector of Lomonosov Moscow State University Academician Victor Sadovnichy.
Our Faculty is internationally recognized by the professional community. It is a member of the International Consortium of Universities "Global Studies Consortium" which provides students with great opportunities to study abroad under the exchange programs.
The educational process at the Faculty of Global Studies is based on the best academic traditions of the Moscow State University coupled with innovative educational technologies.
Our graduates have all the professional competences that are necessary in the 21st century for a specialist in international relations. They are creative, open-minded and fluent in several foreign languages.

MSc "International Relations and Global Studies"
The Master's educational programme "International Relations and Global Studies" is held in English that allows students to expand and deepen their professional communication skills at the international level.

The programme aims to prepare highly-qualified professionals in international relations who are competent in international, political and economic relations and who are well-equipped with knowledge and skills to perform actively in the sphere of foreign politics and global economic integration.

The educational process is provided by leading professors of Lomonosov Moscow State University with the participation of representatives of future employers: employees of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, state authorities, transnational corporations and international organizations.

Under this programme, students have the opportunity to participate in exchange programs at universities in Brazil, Chile, China, Germany, France, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, the UK, the USA and other countries.

Upon completion, our graduates acquire the skills needed for a wide variety of professions and fields; they integrate and apply knowledge across disciplines in order to assess how global processes affect international relations and to creatively use skills and expertise to analyse international situations and conduct independent academic research; to forecast future configuration in global environment to identify possible scenarios of its transformation and evolution; to identify prospects and challenges of globalization and its impact on countries; to develop the strategy and tactics of foreign policy on major international issues; to be competent at establishing professional contacts and communication with the use of two foreign languages; to be able to present a persuasive argument, write correspondence, and / or interpret within the framework of tasks assigned; to apply basic principles of international conflict management and to explore the global security environment in the modern world, as well as to develop and implement mechanisms to maintain international security; to implement practices and procedures of diplomatic etiquette and protocol to communicate professionally in international environment; to be educators who work in university settings; to create new courses and introduce innovative teaching methods.
MSc "Management of Global Social Transformations"
The International Master's Programme in Management of Global Social Transformations is the educational programme within the UNESCO project "Management of Social Transformations" (MOST Program). Master Programme was elaborated on the initiative of the UNESCO Chair at the Faculty of Global Studies of Lomonosov MSU.

The Programme was presented and welcomed at the 13th Session of the Intergovernmental Council on UNESCO MOST Program in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on March 16, 2017 and at the 201st Session of the Executive Board of UNESCO at its Headquarters in Paris, France on May 2, 2017.

The educational standard of the Master Programme meets MOST requirements. It is innovative combination of basic courses and elective disciplines providing knowledge necessary for obtaining the qualification in social transformations.

The programme is aimed at training of specialists in the field of social changes management to achieve sustainable development of societies in the modern world. The programme aims at preparing competent specialists with advanced knowledge and transferable skills who are able to: ensure the international humanitarian cooperation project formulation and implementation; use humanitarian resources of cooperation; develop and offer new approaches to the effective management of social transformations, humanitarian social and ethical processes, challenges and conflicts.

The programme involves training in Russian and English with the involvement of major UNESCO experts in the field of international relations and social transformations. During the educational process, students have the opportunity to attend the School of Social Transformation Management and receive a UNESCO certificate.

The graduates of the Management of Global Social Transformations Master programme is a highly qualified international specialist with full knowledge of social transformations, focused on dynamically changing international situation, with fluency in foreign language. The programme will enable graduates to: use the acquired knowledge and skills creatively in applied analysis of international relations and in scientific research; develop professional insights and analysis of today's processes occurring in the humanitarian sphere as well as the activities of governmental institutions and non-governmental associations in the humanitarian sphere; establish and develop international contacts; work in international organisations, ensuring the implementation of humanitarian programmes and projects; monitor trends and prospects for humanitarian cooperation; be well-versed in global processes in science, education, culture and communication; contribute to the resolution of international conflicts; negotiate and draw up documents in Russian and foreign languages; know the general principles and rules of diplomatic etiquette and protocol as well as the methods and techniques of business communication in the international environment; conduct pedagogical and educational activities; develop and apply innovative forms in education.
